Why I Started This Blog

How many blogs have I started and abandoned over the years . . . I can't even remember them all. In each case, I've written a few posts and then forgot about them. Poor blogs.

This blog will be different.

I settled on the name "Belle in Bloom" because it's exactly I want this blog to be: a place to document my life as I make the most out of my life, as I aspire to reach my personal potential. Yet I know I will never attain those lofty goals, and that's okay.

Honestly, I don't want to reach them. My true goal is––as my blog tagline says––to never stop growing. When you stop growing, you're dead––maybe not physically dead, but dead as a person. Think about it: do you really want to be a finished product? Do you really want to be satisfied being exactly the same person you are today?

In short, this blog will be focused on self-improvement and personal development: ways to keep growing. In my experiences with mental illness, particularly severe depression and anxiety, I've learned a lot about wellness, and I feel like I have a lot to share with people facing similar struggles.

This is totally trite, but if my writing can reach one person and help them realize they're not alone, if I can convince one person out there to seek help, this blogging experiment will have been worth it.

But even if you're lucky enough to not suffer from mental illness, you're not exempt from becoming a better person. I hope this blog will inspire you to focus on your personal growth.

Welcome, friends. May you find a home and a community here. Love to you all.
